What to expect

Racks up, tiles out, Charleston on

The Mahjong Standard mats roll out, the tiles come up on the racks, and the games get going, with a teacher moving table to table for a nudge whenever you want one. This is the real thing: colorful tiles, a proper set-up, and a room full of play.

Meet your host

Hosted by Courtney

Courtney fell completely for American mahjong, and along the way learned exactly how to keep a room of players moving, a nudge here, an answer there. She teaches across South Denver, and she'll be leading the guided play at Carboy.

Good to know

A play evening, not a first lesson

This one is built for players who already know the rules and have a game or two under their belt. There's a teacher on hand for guided play (a nudge on strategy, a question answered), but the tables are rolling from the start, so you'll want to be past your very first sit-down. It's the fun, social middle: real games, real play, a glass of Carboy wine in hand.

Brand new to mahjong? Come to our beginner evening on September 8 first, it's taught from scratch, and we'll see you at open play after.

Got a set? Bring it

If you have your own tile set, you're very welcome to bring it along, more sets means more tables in play. Don't have one? No problem at all, we bring plenty. Let us know your preference in the registration form so we can plan the tables around who's bringing what.
